Slow printing of graphic pages from Win7 guest

I am running VMware Fusion Version 5.0.2 (900491), with a Win 7 32 bit guest running under OX 10.8.2.

I have installed VMTools with the default printer.

Printing graphic pages (eg a PDF file consisting of scanned pages at 300 dpi) takes a long time to print. Ie the PDF file prints from the pdf application and then takes a long time to spool/transfer in the Windows guest before going on to the host. Eg a couple of pages will take about 3-5 minutes to complete spooling/transfer before going on to the host.

When printing text documents there is no delay.

I would be grateful for some help / points on how I can deal with this problem.
