Hi André,
my goodness, with that I opened a can of worms. I've never been aware that modern Operating Systems like Debian doesn't take care of a correct partition alignment, at least not always. The Debian Installer doesn't give me the control to align the partitions to 1 MiB, neither in the common installation wizard nor in the expert installation wizard. The only dimension unit I can use is MB or GB but not the new notation MiB or GiB and on top of that the Installer respect the new notation and fit 1 MB to 1000 KB instead 1024 KB. Therefor an alignment of 1 MiB seems nearly impossible. No I don't believe that, I guess I've overlooked something...
Okay I found a way to get more control of the partition size and position, but therefor I've to load the parted packet during the installation process and switch into a console window to create the partitions with parted to align the first partition on sector 2048 (1MiB using 512 Byte sectors). I work with Debian since a couple of years and I never saw a tutorial which take care of that. Unbelievable...
Thx & Bye Tom
