I just purchased a new MacBook Pro (15.4 inch retina display, 8GB memory, 512 GB SSD, Mountain Lion), I migrated my applications from my old MBP using Apple's migration utility, including VMware Fusion (version 5). After the migration, I started Fusion and it didn't find my virtual machines. No problem, I created a new virtual machine, Ubuntu Linux 12.10 32 bit. After creating and starting the virtual machine, it had no network connection. I tried NAT, Bridged, tried selecting Airport/Autodect, nothing seemed to work. Even removed and recreated the virtual machine. Then, I noticed that if I did an 'ifconfig -a' on the host Mac, none of the virtual network adapters showed up. I removed and re-installed Fusion (multiple times with boots between), same thing. Any suggestions on where to go from here? I'v been using VMware for quite some time and this is the first real problem I've had with it.
