André, no harm done... he made a backup as you originally suggested and he didn't actually replace either file just added the files while renaming them and that is at least one reason why he's still having a problem. The original "Virtual Disk.vmdk", only containing binary zeros, is still in play and needs to be replaced with the one you created.
