Now you feel the need to document the steps don't you.

I did the following.

1. Create a simple web page available on port 1234

2. Modified vmnet8\nat.conf adding this port entry

[incomingtcp]
1234 = 192.168.33.141:1234

(the machine IP address being 192.168.33.141)

3. Turned on Web Sharing

4. Attempted to access the VM web page using the URL localhost:1234

This does not work for me.
