Hello Andre,

 

thanks for your quick reply.

I have checked the "AutoProtect" settings and they were switched "OFF", so this was not the problem.

I have attached a screenshot of the files on my Harddrive, and as they are in the folder "vm" I have assumed that this is somehow linked to VMware. However, as a new Mac user, I am not sure if the source of this problem is really related to "VMware".
