Fusion 5 freezes with XP virtual machine

System: Macbook Pro (late 2011), Mtn Lion 10.8.2, Fusion 5.0.2, Windows XP SP3. After Mtn Lion (upgrade) install I installed Fusion 5 plus VM tools (from Fusion 2 something) . Windows XP virtual machine will not open & causes Fusion 5 to Freeze. Been to Genuis bar numerous times and they can't locate the problem. Once Fusion is open, if I click on Virtual Machine on toolbar everything is grayed out except the send key. Genuis bar says it is not a kernal issue. I do not know what else to tell you. Everytime it Fusion 5 opens it needs a force quit.
