Thanks for the info, William. I have yet another question for you, and something else to try, too.
First, the question: What is your host Model Identifier? It'll be in System Profiler, under Hardware. You mentioned it was an iMac, but there are many different kinds and CPUs and so forth.
If/when you next reproduce the issue, could you try pinging/sshing into the hung VM? We've recently had a smattering of reports of VMs which appear to have hung, but it's just that the guest's display is no longer updating at all. I'm wondering if that might not be the same issue you're encountering there.
