Re: This virtual machine might have been moved or copied when booting two different Macs from external SSD drive

VirtualMac2009 wrote: WoodyZ, the "Mac OS X Server 10.6 64-bit.vmx" has many lines. I understand that I should just paste

uuid.action = "keep"

as the last line and save it. Right?

The placement order of the options in the .vmx configuration file are irrelevant as long as each is on its own line.

On the other hand, I hope the booting from the external SSD drive to boot two different Macs (one at work and the other at home) will not break it as dlhotka says.

The main issue will be the differences between the CPU's and depending on how different, say a Core 2 Duo vs. and Quad Core this by itself may be enough to trigger WPA on a Windows Virtual Machine.   As far a Mac OS X Client or OS X Client this should not be an issue however with Mac OS X Server or OS X Server while I have moved them between a Core 2 Duo vs. and Quad Core I haven't had any issues yet but haven done extensive testing with the Server version.  I think it will be okay however as one should always do... maintain proper backups!
