Clik here to view. If VMware Fusion hasn't created the VM yet then the firmware = "efi" option is on no use.
Also since I'm not willing to replicate your setup on my new MacBook Pro I really cannot offer much more then suggesting trying to manually create a VM pointing to the Boot Camp partition using vmware-rawdiskCreator to create the meta-data virtual hard disk however if the VMware Fusion.app can't do it then it just may be a futile effort to try manually.
BTW I do not know if VMware actually supports running the Boot Camp partition as a Virtual Machine when using EFI/GPT. You may want to contact VMware Support directly as these forums are not official VMware Support, they're User Discussion Forums.
