First of all since "Centos64" is located in the "VirtualBox VMs" folder it's logical to assume it's a VirtualBox VM not a VMware Fusion VM.
There is no extension because "Centos64" is either a Folder or a Package with an hidden extension and if the latter then ctrl-click it and select Show Package Contents although if it's a VirtualBox VM it should just be a folder.
VirtualBox has a utility called VBoxManage that can convert a .vdi to .vmdk. Have a look at VBoxManage clonehd in the User Manual.
