Woody,

Here is a snippet from my .vmx file showing the files you referenced:

.encoding = "UTF-8"
config.version = "8"
virtualHW.version = "9"
scsi0.present = "TRUE"
scsi0.virtualDev = "lsisas1068"
memsize = "4096"
mem.hotadd = "TRUE"
scsi0:0.present = "TRUE"
scsi0:0.fileName = "Virtual Disk.vmdk"
ide1:0.present = "TRUE"
ide1:0.fileName = "cdrom0"
ide1:0.deviceType = "cdrom-raw"

Looks like it's already labeled "cdrom-raw".

Further down the configuration file it mentions cd/rom info again:

ide1:0.autodetect = "FALSE"

ide1:0.startConnected = "FALSE"

ide0:0.present = "TRUE"

ide0:0.autodetect = "FALSE"

ide0:0.deviceType = "cdrom-raw"

ide0:0.fileName = "cdrom0"

ide0:1.present = "TRUE"

ide0:1.autodetect = "FALSE"

ide0:1.deviceType = "cdrom-raw"

ide0:1.fileName = "cdrom0"

ide0:1.startConnected = "FALSE"

floppy0.present = "FALSE"

ide0:0.startConnected = "TRUE"

But once again...it's labeled as "cdrom-raw" again.

I have not changed anything in the .vmx file yet.....not sure what you're suggesting I try to do.

The main thing I need to accomplish is to get the Cyberlink software and drivers that came with the drive to see the drive as an LG branded drive on the virtual machine so the software will install.

Thanks,

Dan
