Nice idea. I tried the disk repair / reboot cycle, but there is no change.
Interestingly enough, the following works:
1. Open a Guest OS .vmwarevm package, by right clicking the file, then choose Show Package Contents
2. Open the .vmx file using a text editor, such as BBEdit
3. Change the memsize="<value>" to a different value
For some reason, VMware Fusion does not want to open and write the memory changes to the .vmx files. Why?
I looked at the file ownership and permissions (as before) and they look okay to me. The owner is correct, and set to owner:read+write or more for every file.
