Mac can't print while guest OS is running

I have a USB-connected Epson C88+ printer attached to Intel MacPro.

I have a Windows XP Pro guest OS running in VMware Fusion.  While the guest OS is running, I am unable to print anything to the Epson from the Mac side until the guest OS is shut down.  I have all my Mac printers shared to the guest OS (and I can print to network printers from the Mac side!).

I need to be to print to the Epson from both sides at the same time.

Snow Leopard 10.6.8

VMware Fusion 5.0.0

Windows XP Pro 32-bit

What do I need to do?
