Well, I'll be careful by stating anything at all - but I observe (and deduce) that USB 3.0 can be enabled within Fusion, which has nothing to do with the guest OS, but has an impact on what kind of device the guest OS registers. In Windows 8, it is recognised as a USB 3.0 device, In Windows 7, it is identified as an "unknown USB controller". In my mind, all that's missing is a software that bridges the gap in the guest OS...
