Under normal circumstances when opening a Windows application when running the Virtual Machine in Unity View a Dock Tile for the application should appear on the Dock and you can ctrl-click it and select Options > Keep in Dock. Now you can revert to whatever view you normally use and then the Dock Tile for the application will remain on the Dock for future use.
