I have done the following:
1. A cold reboot
2. In Sophos
- 'Live Protection' > 'Enable' unchecked
- 'On-access Scanning' > 'Stop Scanning' selected
The same failure occurs.
3. Deleted the following files
VMware Fusion.app
/Library/Application Support/VMware
/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion
/Library/Preferences/VMware Fusion
~/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion
~/Library/Caches/com.vmware.fusion
~/Library/Preferences/VMware Fusion
~/Library/Preferences/com.vmware.fusion.LSSharedFileList.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.vmware.fusion.LSSharedFileList.plist.lockfile
~/Library/Preferences/com.vmware.fusion.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.vmware.fusion.plist.lockfile
~/Library/Preferences/com.vmware.fusionDaemon.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.vmware.fusionDaemon.plist.lockfile
~/Library/Preferences/com.vmware.fusionStartMenu.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.vmware.fusionStartMenu.plist.lockfile
4. Re-installed VMware Fusion
5. 'Add' > 'New...', a VM from 'ubuntu-12.10-desktop-amd64.iso' downloaded from http://www.ubuntu.com
The same failure occurs.
I have tried to open a support ticket, but I am a trial user and apparently not permitted to open a support issue.
Thank you both for the replies. If you think of anything else please let me know.
