VM's reclaimable space keeps growing

Have a Win7 w/SP1 + all updates Ultimate VM running on MBA 11" with MacOS 10.8.3 and all updates.  Running Fusion 5.0.3.

The VM is solely used for VPN access and Outlook 2013 connected to Exchange over VPN .  The VMDK is setup as a sparse image.

Windows user's MyDocuments is mapped to Host's Documents folder.  This is not done through the Fusion's Sharing/Mirrored Folders feature, but rather adding Documents as an individual share.  Reason I did it this way was to avoid using Offline Files in the VM.

Windows' user level and system level TEMP/TMP environment variables point to a folder on the host to reduce VMDK fragmentation with constant temp file trashing.

Firefox's temp directory is also mapped to a folder on the host.

After a few hours of usage, when I shut down the VM, I see about 500 MB of reclaimable space.  If keep using the VM for few more hours of maybe a day or two, this increases to 1 GB or sometimes 2 GB.

I can, then, run Cleanup, and reclaimable space would go down to zero.  But the cycle starts again with reclaimable space growing to many hundred MBs or even GBs.

Any ideas / suggestions on why reclaimable space keeps growing?  How can I avoid it from reaching such high numbers.
