I have performed a disk cleanup to my virtual disk. I finished after a while.

After this VMWARE started to claim my virtual disk was corrupt.

I luckily have a 4 month old backup and I could recover some file from the supossed corrupted vmdk file with a tool called vdk.exe that mounts the virtual disk as a normal drive in Windows. After a whole day work I recovered 99.9% of my information.

I was in doubt how by using the Disk Cleanup could end in such disaster so I have backed up again and performed the disk cleanup again to reclaim to the host operating system some sace not used by the guest. The result was the same a corruoted vmdk file,

I'm using the lasted VMWARE fusion and my OS is Snow Leopard 10.8.3.

I advice to other users of Fusion to avoid using this cleanup option. Very dangerous.

I wonder if VMWARE has really  tested this?
