Keep in mind that SL isn't supported on newer hardware.  Since (if I recall properly) SL doesn't have thunderbolt drivers, you're highly likely to run into issues if you try to do that.

 

You'd be better off running SL Server (available by calling Apple for $20) as a virtual machine on a 10.8 host.

 

And in any case, Apple's likely to drop SL support at any time.  They only commit to supporting N-1 OS versions.  10.9 is due out this summer.

 

But, off topic, what do you find so annoying?  You can disable most of the new screwy stuff, and a bunch of things (graphics, time machine, etc) work far better.  TM on 10.6 was notorious for silent backup corruption for example.
