Fusion 5 seems to have some issues with keeping Unity mode running properly. After doing some troubleshooting I never sorted out why it stops, but I know how to get it back without rebooting or logging in/out - you just need to restart the VMware Tools Service, then start the user process which doesn't get started automatically when you stop/start vmtoolsd.
I am havingn somed trouble getting vmrun to do this and before going the patrh of figuring out to makre it work, thought I'd see if anyone else has it working already?
