"To help figure out what is what, the best way to provide comprehensive diagnostic information is to use the "Collect Support Information" command from the VMware Fusion (menu bar) > Help > Collect Support Information and then attach the .tgz file it created on your Desktop to a reply post.

I have attached the file to better assist in resolving the issue.  I cannot resize the drive using that method.  The slider is grayed out and at the bottom I am getting the "Virtual Disk file is missing" error.

 

"The -R option is to "check a sparse virtual disk for consistency and attempt to repair any errors" not "expand the disk to the specified capacity" which the -x option is used for."

 

I was trying to run that command to fix the Virtual disk error per a KB I found, not to resize the drive.
