And for startup probelm, you mentioned it works fine in safe mode. So i belive its driver conflict issue. I would suggest you to log into safe mode and then disable all non microsoft services and startup programs.

If it loads fine then its no doubt its driver conflict. I would suggest you to focus on Display drivers to start with. Try disabling display drivers in Fusion VM by going to device manager and reboot.
Note : Do no uninstall the display drivers yet.
