After spending 12 hours with Fusion 5, I have to say I reget the upgrade and wish I wouldn't have purchased it.
If I'm running in Unity mode and I close the lid on my MacBookPro, when I open it I get a notification that Fusion can't return to Unity and goes back to single window mode. Why? This worked fine in version 4, never had a problem with it.
Run Win7 and Outlook 2010 in Unity. Have Outlook is in the background, and Safari or any other screen open in front of it. When a new email arrives, Outlook pops up the small blue notification box in the lower right hand side of the screen. Click the red X to delete the message immediately. This causes the main Outlook scfreen to jump to the front of the screen, obscuring what you are doing. Never happened in 4.
Click on a New Email icon Outlook in Unity mode. It appears . . . underneath all the other open windows. Worked fine in 4.
I've also had Outlook randomly popping to the foreground for no apparent reason. Never happened in 4.
I had a Windows XP VM that 5 said needed cleaning up to recover 4 GB of space. I click the button to let it reclaim the space. It runs ... and runs ... and runs ... for an hour and a half. I finally try to cancel the process, but Fusion never lets go of the task. I have to manually force quit - trashing the VM in the process. Compacting that machine only took a few minutes in the past (it's on a SATA III 6G SSD with plenty of space) so I;m not sure what's up there.
I'm definately a disatisfied upgrader and cannot in good conscience recommend the software to others anymore. Version 5 is a disaster.
